Dame Fiona Caldicott, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, gives a talk in a series of seminars on privacy issues in genomic medicine, funded by the Balliol Interdisciplinary Institute and supported by the Oxford Internet Institute. She discusses her work in writing reports for the UK Government on information governance and how the different stakeholder groups she has worked with all have differing views on the best way of sharing data when it’s in the best interests of the patient, and the balance that needs to be struck in terms of maintaining patient confidentiality.
