Dame Stephanie Shirley
Entrepreneur and Philanthropist

Dame Stephanie Shirley is a British businesswoman and philanthropist.  In 1962 she founded the software company FI Group, which employed almost exclusively women, and allowed many of them to work from home.  Through the Shirley Foundation she has made many philanthropic gifts, not least to projects and research aimed at tackling autism, a condition which her son Giles was affected by.
