Péter-Dániel Szántó studied Indology and Tibetology at the ELTE Budapest. He is about to submit his D. Phil. dissertation at the University of Oxford. The thesis deals with a hitherto barely studied Buddhist yoginītantra, the Catuṣpīṭha. Currently he is affiliated with Merton College, where he holds a Junior Research Fellowship. His primary research interest is Tantric Buddhism in India from the 9th to the 13th century, with special attention to Sanskrit manuscripts containing works from that period. He is currently working on a new edition of the Gurupañcāśikā, an edition of the Samvarodayā maṇḍalopāyikā, and an edition of the Anāvilatantra.
