Prof Youmin Xi, President of Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University (XJTLU) talks to Prof Denis Noble from the University of Oxford. They discuss the founding of this modern Chinese university in partnership with its British sister institution. Located in Suzhou, a world heritage site renowned for its ancient parks and temples, yet also home to the modern Suzhou Industrial Park, XJTLU has gone from strength to strength since it opened its doors in 2006. Prof Xi then goes on to detail plans to expand the university, including new research areas and an exciting plan to open a Film and TV School.
