Prof Lesley Higgins from York University in Canada is interviewed about her research on 19th century poet Gerard Manley Hopkins. Having delved through the archives of his alma mater, Balliol College, University of Oxford, Prof Higgins was able to piece together details of his life and work, and speaks of the letters he sent to family, friends and acquaintances, as well as the valued sketchbooks which contain many of his drawings. The interview was conducted by Ian Hodgson from Voices from Oxford, and followed her lecture on the same topic in the Balliol Archives Collection Centre, situated in the former St Cross Church.
