Ngaire Woods delivers a talk as part of the 750th anniversary celebrations of Balliol College, University of Oxford. Speaking at the Sheldonian Theatre in Oxford, she addresses the topic of how the world might change over the next 75 years by giving a brief history of the last 75 years and how scholarships have evolved and also how the roles of different countries have changed over this period. She also uses this history to give a projection of the years to come, and debates whether the rise of countries such as the BRICS will continue unabated or whether western countries can maintain their dominant positions.
