The OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical
Examination) is a practical exam taken by medical students in which they
practice clinical procedures on mock patients. In this video, a series
of interviews show the value of a teaching day just two weeks before
this practical exam. 4th year medical students talk of the value of
being able to practice and ask questions, whilst the senior medical
students and junior doctors who have themselves only recently completed
the exam, talk of how it also benefits them in terms of validation of
their medical knowledge as well as gaining experience of teaching. Dr
Elize Richards, Head of Clinical Skills and Simulation at the University
of Oxford Medical School reiterates the importance of such peer to peer
teaching and learning.
